Order Hemiptera (True Bugs)
Order Hemiptera: The name means "half wing," a reference to the fact that the rear pair of thin clear wings is shorter than the front wings, and the front often leathery wings are called half wings. The main common characteristic of all Hemiptera is their beak/straw-like mouth-parts, most often used to suck juices from plants (but in a few species also to suck blood from vertebrates). Although many people use the general term "bug" to refer to all insects (and even many non-insect arthropods), the only "true" bugs are the Hemiptera.
